One Last Whistle Before the Holiday Break

by Jr. Bandits Staff and Chat GPT

The Jr. Bandits BLL took flight for its final set of games before the holiday break, closing out the first half of the season with plenty of scoring, standout performances, and a little bit of everything that makes league play so fun. As teams head into a two-week pause, the final slate gave players a chance to build momentum, chase wins, and leave the rink feeling good heading into the holidays.

Rapids Weather the Storm in 5/6 Division Win

Grade 5/6 Division – Rapids defeat Buffaloes 12–9

The Rapids came out firing, jumping to a commanding 6–1 lead early before the Buffaloes found their footing. Buffaloes battled back to cut the deficit to 7–5, but the Rapids answered with a strong finish to pull away and secure the win.

Gavin Mazur led the way for the Rapids with three goals and two assists, while Brantley Bachman and Wesley Bauer each chipped in three points of their own. In goal, Gavin Snyder was sharp, stopping 19 of 28 shots to earn his first win of the season.

For the Buffaloes, Nash Geier powered the offense with four goals and five points. Jamison Barth added four points, while Carter Love contributed three in a spirited comeback effort that ultimately came up just short.

Thunderhawks Soar in Pre-Holiday Showcase

Grade 7/8 Division – Thunderhawks defeat Stealth 16–2

While the scoreline was lopsided, the action stayed lively as the Thunderhawks put together an offensive showcase. Goals came early and often, with crisp passing and plenty of energy keeping things fun from start to finish.

Dominick Velardo poured in a season-high six goals to pace the Thunderhawks. Logan Stubley, Snyder Pragle, and Jaxen Guziejka all recorded multi-goal nights in the rout. In net, Daniel Farnham was flawless in the first half, turning aside all 10 shots he faced.

The Stealth found the scoresheet behind goals from Brody Bachman and Gionni Todaro, but ultimately dropped to 1-1-1 on the season heading into the break.

Pythons Stay Perfect in High-Scoring Holiday Finale

Grade 7/8 Division – Pythons defeat Glaciers 16–14

The Pythons stayed undefeated in a fast-paced, high-scoring contest that saw momentum swing throughout the night. Hudson Ekberg did everything he could to keep the Glaciers close, netting four goals, but it wasn’t enough to slow down the Pythons’ balanced attack.

Evin Sweeney led the way with a massive eight-point performance (7G, 1A), while Kyle Madden, Tim Nanticoke, and Levi Kittleman each added two goals. In an unexpected twist, Daniel Farnham—acquired just before the game in an emergency goalie situation—made an immediate impact, stopping 12 shots to help guide the Pythons to victory.

Holiday Break Ahead, Action Resumes January 5
