2024 Jr. NLL Skills Competition Friday August 16th at 6:30 PM
Toronto Rock Athletic Centre Outdoor Field
One player from each Jr. NLL team will be paired with an NLL pro player to compete in one skill in each age group.
Event #1 – U17 Division: Hardest Shot
- Jr. NLL and NLL player are paired up. Both take two shots each. The highest shot for each player would be added together for their combined total score.
- Highest team score when all players are done is declared the winner.
Event #2 – U15 Division: Accuracy
- Jr. NLL players are paired up with NLL player. Each player has 30 seconds to shoot and put one ball through each of the four targets.
- Each target is only to be hit one time.
- The clock stops once you have hit all four targets once each.
- NLL and Jr. NLL player totals are combined (time and total number of targets hit) to determine the winner.
- Tiebreaker:
- Tiebreaker will be broken by whichever team knocked out the most targets (8 is the max score). If there are two or more teams tied, the team that hit those targets in the least amount of time wins.
- Example: Two teams each knock out all targets giving them a total of 8. Team 1 knocked out their 8 targets in :45 seconds, Team 2 knocked out 8 targets in :50 seconds. Team 1 is the winner.
- Example: NLL player hits 3 targets and has a time of :30 seconds as they did not hit all 4 targets. Jr. NLL player hits all 4 targets, his clock is stopped at :22 seconds when he hit the 4thtarget. The team score is 7 targets in a time of :52 seconds.
Event #3 – U13 Division: Long shot
- Players will shoot into an empty net from 25 feet, 40 feet, 50 feet etc. Once the Jr. NLL player misses a shot, they can pull in their NLL player to make the shot and SAVE their team and continue on.
- Each team gets one SAVE.
- The ball can bounce multiple times, no rolling the ball
- Whoever makes the longest shot is the winner
