by Jr Bandits Staff and ChatGPT

It was a full slate of action across the Jr. Bandits BLL on a busy night of lacrosse, featuring tight battles, breakout performances, and a statement win from the league’s last unbeaten squad. From a long-awaited first victory to a goalie stepping way up an age group, the night delivered across all divisions.

Grade 5/6 Division

Blizzard 8, Stampede 5

In the lone Grade 5/6 matchup of the night, the Blizzard earned their first win of the season with an 8–5 victory over the Stampede. The teams traded goals early, ending the first period deadlocked at 2–2. The Blizzard edged ahead in the second, taking a 5–4 lead, before pulling away in the third to seal the win.

Leading the charge for the Blizzard was Evan Boorman, who recorded a five-point night (3G, 2A). He was supported by Anderson Ruff (2G, 1A) and Nickolas Mattoon Jr. (3G), each finishing with three points.

For the Stampede, Rex McComber and Jonathan Deakin each found the back of the net twice in the loss.

The win was a big one for the Blizzard, who had already suffered three one-goal losses this season, making this breakthrough victory even sweeter. Asked after the game about the team's first win, Blizzard Coach Zack Belter said "A storm is coming".

Grade 7/8 Division

Thunderhawks 11, Glaciers 6

The Grade 7/8 action kicked off with the Thunderhawks defeating the Glaciers 11–6 in a game that remained close until the third period. The Glaciers entered the matchup without a goalie, but Grade 5/6 netminder Macalo Holm (2016 birth year) stepped up in a massive way, jumping into the crease against opponents up to five years older.

Holm stood tall, keeping the Glaciers within one goal after two periods and finishing the night with 18 saves on 29 shots — one of the most impressive goaltending performances of the season.

Ultimately, the Thunderhawks broke things open behind an otherworldly performance from Snyder Pragle, who erupted for five goals and one assist. Daniel Farnham earned the win in net for the Thunderhawks, stopping 15 shots.

Despite the loss, Hudson Ekberg continued his strong play for the Glaciers, scoring five of his team’s six goals as they continue searching for their first win of the season.

Grade 7/8 Division

Pythons vs. Stealth

The final matchup of the night showcased why the Pythons remain the lone undefeated team in the Jr. Bandits BLL. Kyle Madden led the offensive onslaught with seven goals and an assist, while Evin Sweeney added four goals of his own.

In goal, fill-in netminder Daniel Farnham completed a strong night with 13 saves to help secure the victory.

For the Stealth, Gionni Todaro led the way offensively with three points (2G, 1A). The Stealth will look to bounce back quickly as they take on the Glaciers tonight at 8:00 PM.
